The Lansing Police Department has a state-of the-art Emergency 911 Dispatch Center that is staffed with at least two highly trained telecommunicators 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Center has three totally computerized workstations with access to available local, state and federal databases. All Emergency Police, Fire and EMS 911 calls made within the Village are routed through this Center and personnel answer over 20,000 911 calls per year.
In addition, the Center is equipped with specialized computer equipment, which enables personnel the tracking of wireless 911 telephone callers.
