Yellow Dot Program
The Lansing Police Department is partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation to be a distribution site for “Yellow Dot” materials. The Yellow Dot program is a statewide initiative designed to provide vital medical information on vehicle drivers and passengers in case of a serious crash. The Yellow Dot program incorporates a yellow sticker which is affixed to the rear window of a vehicle which identifies those enrolled in the program, and signals first responders to check the glove box of the vehicle for further medical information. The moments directly following a crash are the most critical, thus with this information on hand, medical treatment can be initiated quicker. The Yellow Dot materials are located in the front lobby of the police department or you can access their website at www.yellowdotillinois.org.
