Situated at the crossroads of I-80, I-94 and I-294 and only about twenty-five miles from downtown Chicago, Lansing offers the best of both worlds. Small town charm, deep-seated family values and a select regional location in close proximity to big-city amenities. Lansing has a large variety of shopping opportunities, including department stores, specialty shops, financial institutions, and grocery stores, along with many dining options.

Downtown Lansing - Ridge Road

Lansing's quaint downtown shopping district is an inviting place for residents and visitors to walk shop, eat, or simply gather together with friends in our beautiful Park Plaza area. You can find a wide range of retail diversity such as specialty shops offering everything from fine jewelry to the world famous chocolate and ice-cream at Gayety's. Our downtown district also includes larger, well known stores such as Ace Hardware, Walgreen's, Aldi's and some of the best pizza you'll find. In the summertime, you can enjoy the wonderful Farmer's Market hosted by the Lan-Oak Park District in Park Plaza or stroll through the flower garden.

Torrence Avenue

The Torrence Avenue shopping corridor features established businesses and national affiliates. The Landing's Shopping Center at the north end of Torrence adds shopping options with nationwide anchors as well as an abundance of food options. South of I-80/94, you will find several smaller shopping areas that include service businesses, dry cleaners, restaurants, salons, a bakery and smaller scale grocery stores.

Burnham Avenue

Shopping and dining is spread out along Burnham Avenue that includes a pet food/supply store just north of Ridge Road and two smaller strip malls at the south end. If you have an affinity for airplanes, you can watch airplanes land and take off at our Municipal Airport.
