Spring Cleaning April 30th!

Start Your Spring Cleaning Early & Mark Your Calendar for April 30

You may be familiar with our annual Community Clean-Up Day, but this year the Village of Lansing will also be helping residents with their own “clean-up”.  In conjunction with the volunteer trash pickup that will be going on throughout the Village on April 30th, this will also mark our first Community Shred Day and Electronics Recycling Day.

Have you been wondering what to do with that old computer or television, and those boxes of old documents that contain private information?  April 30th will be your chance to properly dispose of both at NO CHARGE!  No need to call or register, just arrive at Village Hall between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon with your items!  There is no limit on the electronics EXCEPT for t.v.’s.  - we will only accept 3.  (The Village pays for the disposal of televisions, so we have to limit them!)

Our document shredding event, sponsored by HOMEWOOD DISPOSAL, will allow residents to drop off up to 5 boxes of paper-based material to be securely shred.  Your private information is properly safeguarded and documents will be shred on-site the day of the event.

The electronics recycling drop-off, sponsored by ALLIANCE DEMOLITION and in cooperation with VetTech.US, will offer residents the opportunity to dispose of small household electronic equipment that is no longer allowed in landfills.   The e-waste collected by VetTech.US is used in their free IT Training program for veterans. Your old electronics will help military veterans learn as they work toward their IT certifications.

Also, many of the items collected are refurbished and given to community and charitable organizations as well as families in need.

These FREE events are only available to Lansing residents.  Residency will be verified by your current Village of Lansing sticker in the window of your vehicle.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call 708-895-7208 for more information.
