8/13/20 - Work To Begin On Wentworth Avenue Resurfacing Project
The Village of Lansing has funded the resurfacing of nearly 2 miles of streets each of the last 3 years. We are always also looking for other funding sources to assist us in maintaining the roads throughout the Village. We are pleased to inform you that the Village has secured federal funding to assist with the resurfacing of Wentworth Avenue from Ridge Road north to 177th Street.
The street repairs are scheduled to begin the week of August 17th and continue through November 2020. These repairs will include replacement of concrete curb where drainage problems exist, replacement of concrete sidewalk at intersections to provide ADA handicap accessible ramps and repairs to the pavement itself.
Upon completion, Wentworth Avenue will be a 3-lane road with one travel lane in each direction and a bidirectional
turn lane for residents to more safely enter and exit their driveways and adjacent streets. This configuration will also preserve the pavement for a longer period of time.
Please be attentive to any notices posted by the contractors as this will ensure the contractors can perform their operations in an efficient and safe manner.
We also ask that you please be cautious when driving down Wentworth Avenue as workers will be present periodically for the next couple of months.
