State of Illinois Issues New Region 10 Mitigation Guidelines To Deal With COVID-19

On Monday, October 26th, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s office announced new COVID-19 mitigation restrictions for Suburban Cook County municipalities which includes the Village of Lansing. These areas are identified as Region 10 by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The new restrictions will go into effect on Wednesday, October 28th at 12:01 a.m. and are considered Tier 1 of the State’s mitigation plan in the fight against the resurging number of COVID-19 cases in our area. The cause for these new conditions in our region is a combination of a steadily increasing positivity rate along with an increase in COVID-related hospitalizations over the last ten days.
